This class was both Fluid Power and System Automation and Control. The Fluid Power class was a lot of lab work and learning about how fluid power works. Learned about compressible and incompressible fluid statics and dynamics that is applied to hydraulic and pneumatic pumps, motors, transmissions and controls. In this class we used the simulation program automation studio to help us build and simulate systems. The Systems Measurement, Automatation and Control class examined the concepts, devices, and common practices associated with modern automation. We used the Rs Logic program to build ladder logic. We stuided how to use and program PLC's (programmable logic controller) These two classes met at the same time. I didn't have much work saved from this class because most of it was labs that were hand written. I do have a picture of the setup of our final project. My lab partner and I had to progam a PLC, wire it up to solenoid fired DCV's and make the system run by pushing bottons. We unfortunatley ran out of time trouble shooting the circuit and couldn't get the buttons to work properly even though the written program simulated good. The thought was bad DCV.
